Pretty simple to do. I just wanted something better than the normal picture to put on my website. The Silver Spike was a name that Edge Magazine gave our railroad spike knife in the early 1990s. It was what my grandfather(obviously at the age of 5 or 6 I wouldn't have been able to make the knife) specialized in at the time. He was widely known for it which is why the business is still alive today. A few actors and singers have one of our knives: Chuck Norris(actually I believe we gave one to each person on the show Walker Texas Ranger, happened to be my grandfathers favorite show at the time), Willie Nelson, and Tracy Lawrence to name a few. The knife has been crafted in our family for over 50 years. It's a one piece construction with a twisted design handle. While there are a lot of people that make these now, ours have stood up against the test of time and are at the best price we can give. $50 for the knife which comes with it's own black leather sheath and a life time warranty(as do all of my knives). This is the one that we are known for, but I make well over 100 other types and styles. People just favor this one more, mainly large railroad companies such as CN, Shraders, and White Pass and Yukon Railway(the worlds largest scenic railroad).
I never intended on making knives to tell the truth, I was more into computers and writing. I seriously only learned so that I could make swords, but I would have been forced to learn regardless because my grandfather made me. He said that I'd be the only one capable of taking over the business. Over 2 years ago he passed away on August 22, 2005. At the time we only made 10 different kind of knives. I took over the business and now I, alone, make over 100. I'll try to put more of them up when I get better pictures of them. I'm sure I'll be able to get famous and have loads of people taking my ideas like all of the other great knife makers. I can't wait for the day.
